We arrived at our appointment a few minutes early and checked in quickly. My son had originally wanted to choose the Captain Mickey package, but we were told when we arrived that it was not available. If your child loves to be pampered and loves to sparkle, then Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is worth the splurge. However, if you have a child who is in the pool every day and whose fancy hairdo will last two hours, then again, keep that price in mind. The Castle Package is $199.95 and includes everything in the Crown Package, plus a choice of Disney Princess gown with coordinating accessories, and a princess necklace.
Cruise Line Ships
There’s also the opportunity cost of spending your limited time on the ship in a salon. If your kids have other things they will want to do on the cruise, they may not want to spend as much time having their hair done. The hair/makeup portion of the makeover is a big part of it. If you’ll be visiting a beach on your cruise vacation, or if your child likes to go in the pool, on the AquaDuck or AquaDunk, or in the splash area, all of that work will be undone. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a special experience for kids, but it can also be expensive. So you’ll need to evaluate whether the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is worth it for your family.

A Magical Experience: The Disney Cruise Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
A mural with a majestic wooded landscape and Cinderella Castle sparkling in the distance is perfect to capture photos of each precious moment. For the first time ever, guests will be able to choose Captain Minnie, Captain Mickey, and Ariel makeover options, all of which coordinate with new features aboard Disney Wish. The appointment length will vary by package so keep that in mind when planning. You can pick the package that best suits your family’s needs, whether it’s a simple sprucing up or a full-blown royal treatment. Does the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on the Disney Wish sound amazing? If you decide to book prior to your cruise, there are different booking windows available for guests who are Castaway Club members.
Booking Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Makeovers
Luckily when we got on the ship and we figured out our schedule, I called from our room, and they were able to fit us in. You can also walk in and see if there’s availability, but it was very convenient just to call. At each appointment, up to 2 additional Guests may accompany the child to view the makeover.
Castle Package $199.95
They will also see other kids who have been transformed, and they may make it even more appealing. It’s definitely a special thing to do, especially for a birthday or other important occasion. This can be an expensive activity on a ship filled with complimentary, included activities. So you’ll really need to evaluate whether the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is worth it. There are currently Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques on the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy, the Disney Magic, and the Disney Wonder.

This is the perfect time to meet the princesses while your little one is all dressed up. We recently sailed on the Disney Wonder for the Westbound Panama Canal cruise (trip report here) and experienced the Bibdidi Bobbidi Boutique for the first time, on land or at sea. I also wrote about this experience in my trip report, but I wanted to give it it’s own post to make it easier for people find without having to dig through a 14 day trip report. They’ll give your kiddo something to keep the glitter off their clothes and face.
How much does Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique cost on a cruise ship?
My mom and I had plenty of space to watch my daughter’s magical transformation into a beautiful princess. The knight and captain packages are only offered with costumes, so this trick doesn’t work as well with those options. But if you choose one of the princess or pirate packages, you can reserve without the costume. The costume can add $100 or more to the cost, so this can save you significantly. Magical makeovers are Disney-inspired transformational fun for ages 3-12, including hairstyling, costumes, makeup, accessories, and a dash of fairy dust. If you would rather wait, you can still make your reservation during your cruise, although availability isn’t guaranteed.
Royal Disney Traveler Package $250
Here is the timeline of when you can make a reservation for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Keep in mind that your cruise must be paid in full, before reserving a spot. Considering a manicure for girls on the ship is $45 at the spa, then it’s not a bad price or you can save money by skipping on the Disney Cruise Line wifi. You can also stop by the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on Disney Cruise Line for touch-ups for free while on the ship. To stop the session, click the X in the screen-sharing window at any time.
If you’re looking for that special Disney magic, this is one way to get there. They include hairstyling, a costume, accessories, and confetti. There’s also the Captain’s Package, which includes a Captain Minnie/Mickey plush, a costume, and hairstyling. Guests can bring along their own costumes for the lower-priced packages, while higher-end packages include costuming for guests to keep. Most makeovers take approximately 30 minutes, but more detailed packages may take longer. Disney requests that each child is properly groomed before their reservation.
There are a few things you’ll need to do ahead of your salon visit to ensure you have the best experience possible. There are plenty of package options to fit a variety of budgets. They also offer themed packages inspired by specific characters, like Princess Anna or Queen Elsa. Exclusive to Star Wars Day at Sea voyages aboard the Disney Fantasy, are Star Wars-inspired makeovers. A child-approved experience both onboard Disney Cruise Line and in the Disney Parks is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Home to Fairy Godmothers, Magic Mirrors, and a bit of pixie dust, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers a magical time for children between the ages of 3 and 12.
Then they wave the wand and sprinkle pixie dust all over the hair. Afterward, they’ll put a sash over your child’s costume to wear. Just another little touch to make them feel prince or princessy. If you are on the fence, know that there is no cancellation fee if you cancel 24 hours prior to your appointment time. As the mom of a seventeen-year-old son and eighteen-year-old daughter, she has spent much time traveling with kids, and has taken many cruises over the years. Jodi lives in Massachusetts with her family and is the founder of Family Travel Magazine.
Surprisingly, at this time, there are no Marvel offerings specific to Marvel Day at Sea. Pirate League packages are available on a Pirate Party Night only. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a salon, run by a team of “fairy godmothers”. They offer a variety of fairytale transformations, including a knight, princesses, or a ship captain.
We chose the Deluxe carriage package for my little girl, which was perfect. She was able to keep all the leftover make-up and nail polish. She enjoys wearing the tee shirt and playing with the hair accessory and cinch bag. Her fairy godmother entertained my daughter with princess-related questions throughout the magical transformation. She made my daughter feel as if she was the star of the show.
Your Fairy-Godmother-in-Training will show your child to their royal throne (AKA chair). This is likely when you’d pick out a costume if you chose that option. Parents (or whoever is accompanying them) also get a royal couch to sit on, which is another fun touch. Once you arrive at your appointment time, you’ll check in at the front desk and they’ll confirm the package you selected. From there, you’ll meet your Fairy Godmother Apprentice (or Fairy-Godmother-in-Training). Your Fairy-Godmother-in-Training will surprise your child with their included goodies (ours included a cinch bag with a few items and a t-shirt).
In true Disney fashion, there’s a bibbidy bobbidi boo, and then reveal. It’s actually really cute, and as a parent, so fun to watch their little face light up when they see the finished product. We saw a lot of kids getting the Pixie Magic style, but Olivia opted for the Enchanted style, which is very classic.
It’s also fun for pictures with Disney characters on the ship. If the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is in your budget, I would definitely recommend the experience! If not, bring your own costume on board, buy a tiara, and put your hair up in a bun. There are still plenty of princess experiences on board without an extra cost. You can wait for the characters to come out for your photo sesh.
